Nesbitt Memorial Hospital
On the morning of June 22, 1972, Nesbitt Memorial Hospital was evacuated. Staff loaded patients into ambulances and cars and drove them to nearby hospitals or Misericordia College, which served as a temporary hospital. This college-turned-hospital remained as such for a couple of weeks until the damage at Nesbitt Memorial Hospital was repaired. The water had flooded the hospital's basement and first floor. The approximate cost of the damage sustained by the hospital was $3 million.
